Astrologi ("we", "us") operates astrologi.in. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and follows the same principles for visitors outside India.
1. What we collect
Birth details you enter
To calculate a chart we need a date of birth, a time of birth and a place of birth. Under the DPDP Act this is personal data, and we treat it as such.
- If you are not signed in, the chart is calculated and shown to you. It is stored against a random, unguessable link so the page can be reloaded or shared by you. It is not linked to your name or email.
- If you are signed in, charts you choose to save are linked to your account so you can find them again.
- Saved chart pages carry a
noindexinstruction and are excluded in ourrobots.txt. Search engines are told not to list them.
Account information
If you create an account: your name, email address, and a password which is stored only as a one-way hash. We never store or see your password in readable form.
Technical information
Our servers record IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps. This is standard web-server logging, used for security and to diagnose faults.
Consent records
When you choose your cookie preferences we record that choice, the date, and your IP address. Under the DPDP Act the burden of proving consent sits with us, not with you, so this record exists to protect your rights rather than ours.

3. What we never do
- We do not sell your personal data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
- We do not send your birth details to any third-party astrology API. All calculations run on our own servers, which is why this site works without external services.
- We do not use your birth details to target advertising to you.
- We do not contact you with marketing unless you have asked us to.
4. Advertising and third parties
This site carries advertising, which is how it stays free. Advertising scripts from third-party networks are loaded only if you accept advertising cookies. If you decline, you will still see advertising, but it will be non-personalised and will not set tracking cookies.
Where third-party ad networks are used, those companies have their own privacy policies governing the data they collect. We restrict which domains may load scripts on this site through a Content Security Policy.
5. How long we keep things
- Unsaved charts: retained for 12 months, then deleted.
- Saved charts: until you delete them or close your account.
- Account data: until you close your account, then deleted within 30 days.
- Server logs: 90 days.
- Consent records: 3 years, because we may need to demonstrate consent was given.
6. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act 2023 you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to nominate someone to act for you if you are unable to, and to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any of these, write to info@astrologi.in. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
7. Children
This site is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, write to info@astrologi.in and we will delete it.
8. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed. Administrative access is controlled by per-action permissions and logged. Repeated failed sign-in attempts lock an account temporarily.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
